Located at Empire State Plaza, 1, Albany, NY 12210, PRIME at the Plaza operates as a cafe serving Albany in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Albany, coffee shops cluster around downtown offices, college campuses and the main commercial streets of residential neighborhoods, and the independents usually close by mid-afternoon while chains stay open into the evening. Across New York, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Loyalty programs are common and worth joining if you are a regular.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–2 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (518) 375-2318. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, racafes.compass-usa.com.

Its Google rating is 3.6 out of 5 from 70 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Albany is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Albany is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This place stinks, litteraly, it smells awful in there almost every time I make the mistake of going. The food is okay, the people are nice and professional, but my god it just reeks in there.

Had the turkey bacon reuben for lunch from the grill. It was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. It was severely undercooked, the bread was barely toasted/grilled and the meat and dressing tasted spoiled adjacent. It felt as though I might get sick halfway through the first half of the sandwich, which would make me a folk legend in the concourse and not in a good way. I haven't descended into catastrophic gastric distress yet, but my body hasn't yet ruled it out. Don't know how or why I'm the first commenter to affirmative state that it's a culinary abomination, but I felt the need to wave people away from it as if an alien were going to burst out of my chest cavity and attach itself to someone else's face and lay eggs. Anyone ordering the turkey bacon reuben risks transforming their taste buds and innards through a veritable Albany sewer pipe. Consider yourself warned.

All the staff are really nice but every time I wanna order something from the grill someone starts wiping sweat from their face with their hands I am talking every time I don't think they're conscious of their actions and they keep on cooking I know it's hot but have a towel or something I will never eat here again

I typically get the chef's special for the day, which you can view online before heading over to it. The daily chef's special is usually fairly priced, tasty and includes a good portion size. There is a decent amount of seating inside, too.

Good lord. I don't know where they get their "chefs" from but the food is sub par for the price they charge. Got some creamy chicken soup today and it's loaded with so much salt and pepper I can barely eat it. The soups are always some kids of weird mish mash and always LOADED with salt. The pizza isn't great but if you're desperate it does the trick. Chef's corner is iffy, don't get the chicken marsala....it's far from what you'd normally expect chicken marsala to be. WAY too expensive for the poor quality you get.
